The Art of Relaxation

You are a go, go, go kind of person. Helping everyone and maybe forgetting to look after yourself sometimes… I am amazed at how many clients come in and even know they are being massaged the muscle forget to relax. The body seems to be on autopilot, still tense, ready for more go, go, go…

When the body stays tight and too firm and does not let go and relax pain can form. This can be due to over worked muscles; doing the same motion day in and day out. Could have been an accident of some kind. And maybe even happened twenty or more years ago and is just showing up now.

Connie’s secrets to having a pain free body… (other than coming in for a spa session)

1st secret…
Goldi Tendon Organ Release Technique (push and hold for the count of 10)

  •  Shoulder: Trapezius muscle = rub around the shoulder blade, end of shoulder and collar bone (u-shape motion)
  • Arm:  Deltoid muscle  = also rub around the shoulder blade, end of shoulder and collar bone (u-shape motion)
  • Butt: Gluteus muscles = rub edge of hip to tail bone or apply pressure with all fingers
  • Leg:Calf muscle tightness or cramps = at Achilles heel (calcaneal tendon) and just below knee, soleus origin attachment  or Anterior calf muscles (tibialas anterior-medial and peroneals -lateral) = at base of first metatarsal or Hamstrings (back of leg)= ischeal tuberosity (sit bone) or Quadracepts (front of leg)= rectus femoris, just above knee and at crease of leg = all other anterior thigh muscles, just above knee
  • Foot: Flexor Digitorum Brevis (Plantar fasciitis) = at edge of calcaneus bone or at pad of toes

 2nd secret…
Agonist Contract – Opposite Muscle Technique  (remedial exercise-AIH)

Move your body in the opposite direction of the movement that causes the pain. Don’t forget to apply light force of pressure and count to 5

 3rd secret…
  Epsom salts

Magnesium is great to relax muscles, and the other part of the salt helps to flush lactic acid and waste caused by muscle use.

 4th secret…
  Stretch in shower

After you have cleans yourself, let the warm hot water massage your neck and let your neck flex at it’s own speed (do not force), then let water hit back and allow each vertebra to relax…watch how fast you can touch your toes without effort.

5th secret…
   Breathe

Taking a breath in and out; NO I mean a deep breath in, and a big blowing candles type of breath out! Oxygen is soooo important for the muscles to operate at optimal performance. If you are having any issues with your breathing get it checked, and make sure your iron in your body is at proper balance. You need iron to carry the oxygen molecules to the rest of the tissue in the body. Without iron… no boat to carry the so precious element that we can only live for minutes without or we die. Tissue can die without enough oxygen and we run out of steam really fast without oxygen. Breathe…NO deep breathe…blow those candles out!

6th secret…
   Color Meditation

Might seem silly but it actually works!
Imagine putting a color to your pain or sore muscles (first color that comes to mind)…
Now imagine there is a cosmic vacuum cleaner attached somewhere on your body sucking up all that pain or sore muscles color…At the same time that the vacuum cleaner is doing it’s job you are bringing down from the cosmos a crystal clear sparkly energy coming into the top of your head…pushing all the pain or sore muscles color out into the vacuum cleaner…

Breathe…

Once all the pain or sore muscles color is gone imagine a new beautiful color that will represent health and vitality and bring it into the top of your head…pushing all the crystal clear sparkly color out into the vacuum cleaner…

Breathe…

Once all the new color which represents health and vitality has replaced the crystal clear and even some is now being sucked into the cosmic vacuum you can remove the vacuum and seal that area and seal the top of your head…Now just enjoy the new energy of health and vitality…

(Do this color meditation as often as you need to)
